Trex Transcend Deck Resurfacing & Balcony Addition in Shorewood, IL

Project Details:

Our outdoor living specialist evaluated the deck’s substructure and confirmed it was in good condition, making it a good candidate for deck resurfacing. We replaced the decking and railings and kept the existing structure. This gave the homeowners a refreshed deck with durable, low-maintenance materials, without the cost of a full rebuild. The new composite balcony complements the updated deck with matching materials and a cohesive appearance.

Trex Transcend Composite Decking

Trex Transcend composite decking replaced the worn boards. It has a realistic wood-grain finish and resists fading and staining, which makes it a practical alternative to traditional wood. The Tiki Torch boards with a Lava Rock border give the deck a defined, finished look.

New Deck Railings

We replaced the old railings with Trex Transcend railings in Vintage Lantern with black round balusters. They complement the decking, and the white fascia ties the deck, balcony, and railings together. The system is designed for outdoor durability and easy maintenance.

Balcony Addition

Along with resurfacing the existing deck, we built a new Trex Transcend composite balcony for the homeowners. It extends their outdoor living space and uses the same Tiki Torch decking, Vintage Lantern railings with black round balusters, and white fascia as the main deck, so the finished project reads as one cohesive outdoor space.
