Chris Warner, owner of Warner’s Decking, Inc., originated his business in 1988.
He recently incorporated this business. Previously it was known as
“Warner’s Decking & Remodeling.” Chris was the first in the Naperville/Plainfield
area to specialize in custom decks. He also has several years of
professional experience with other home improvement areas such as remodeling
basements, screened porches, gazebos and interior trim. In 1996, Chris founded
Warner Homes, Inc. In this business, Chris serves as a general contractor
for custom homes in Plainfield, specifically in the Wilding Pointe and Walkers
Grove subdivisions.
Chris has realized from years of experience that he is most efficient keeping his
company small. When he originated his business, Chris completed all of the
work himself; however, currently Warner’s Decking has 2-3 other carpenters.
Chris is on the job site as much as possible, unless he has to leave for supplies or materials.
He is licensed, bonded and insured. He knows exactly how the inspectors want
the work completed. Most projects built with treated or cedar lumber will be done
within 3-5 days, depending on the weather. Projects completed with Trex materials
will require 5-10 business days. Chris strives for top quality construction on each
job and he will spend whatever time is needed to ensure this.
Chris is reliable and dedicated when working with homeowners. If you need to
contact Chris at any time, he can be reached at 630-420-1940. Your call will
be forwarded to his cell phone, which he always has with him. You will almost
never speak to an answering machine. If he happens to be unavailable, Chris
will promptly return your voice mail. He keeps in touch with customers, letting
them know when permits are obtained and when their project is scheduled to begin.
As cities change their building codes to require carpenters to stop framing and
call for inspections, the crew may have to work on more than one job at a time.
Chris will ensure that homeowners are well informed of this and any other issues,
over the course of the job.
There is never a sales pitch or pressure when an estimate is given. Chris is
straightforward, providing only important information that the homeowners need to
make their decisions. He is also clear about what they do not need and what they
should watch out for. He tries to assist his potential customers as much as he can,
even if he does not do the work for them.
Chris has resided in the Naperville area since 1971, and he graduated from Waubonsie Valley
High School. He currently resides in Plainfield in a house that he built at 13349 Wellesley
Court. Chris has been married since 1993 and his wife helps him out with the business as much
as possible, handing in permits, etc.
